Home Grown player named to All Big East Freshman Team

Congratulations to home grown Philadelphia Ukrainian National player Ramzi Qawasmy for being named to the ALL BIG EAST FRESHMAN TEAM at Providence University!! Ramzi has logged over 1600 minutes for the Friars this season as the teams center back and has Providence playing in the Big East Conference Semifinals vs Georgetown later this week.

Ramzi played for the original Shakhtar team at the Philadelphia Ukrainian Club and was trained and coached by our Academy Director and Head Coach Gary Stephenson. Coach Gary often says that “Ramzi’s game was one of the best he had seen and transforming him to be the dominant 11v11 player he is was an honor.”

Ramzi exemplifies the hard work and drive that it takes to become a successful Division 1 soccer player and we wish him the best at Providence. We will follow your journey along the way and good luck to the Friars.
