Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals SC Accepted into the National Premier League

The Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals SC is proud to announce its continuing regional and national expansion with the acceptance of our Club’s Boys 14s through 19s in the Elite Development Program (EDP) National Premier League Division commencing the Fall of 2017. This is an incredible opportunity for the Club to build upon its youth player development model which has brought so much success and attention to the Club in the past decade. According to Dan Harmon, the Club’s VP of Youth Soccer: “NPL provides a nearly seamless progression for the advancement of our elite boys players through high school and right into the college ranks. It is a testament to the strong coaches, players and parents of our Club in these age groups that EDP/NPL invited Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals to be an anchor Club in its elite team structure.” Competing in the NPL Division permits the Club teams access to the ENPL competition.

Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals qualified on the Boys’ side for the NPL Division of EDP because it demonstrated strength tactically and technically at all age-groups required from 14s through 19s.
In addition, the Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals is equally pleased to announce its Club-wide affiliation with the Elite Development Program (EDP). According to Dan Harmon: “This affiliation is a perfect fit for the Club and EDP. At this point in our Club’s explosion in growth, it makes sense to commit our Club’s elite teams to the EDP league. EDP is where all the elite Mid-Atlantic Club teams compete and where many of our teams were already competing without a formal relationship.” Dan Harmon adds “the mission statements of our Club and EDP are strategically aligned.”
According to EDP, it “exists to support soccer programs in the region which are professionally-managed with player development as their primary focus, and thereby support the growth of soccer in the United States. We seek to work with clubs that, while competing with each other, are ready to be part of a congenial and mutually-supportive group that works together to promote the game and serve the needs of high potential players.” The Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals proudly looks forward to the EDP experience and opportunities it brings to the girls and boys sides of the Club.
