Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals SC have announced that it has named Joe Nemzer as the club’s new Technical Director. Nemzer previously served as the Girls Academy Director for Arlington Soccer SA ECNL, in addition to to being an Assistant Coach at the University of Maryland.  Nemzer will be rejoining the club having previously served as the Senior Girls Director from 2018 – 2021. 

“We are excited that Joe will be returning as Technical Director to the club. His experience, desire to compete, see every player develop, and his hard work align with our core values. We are making large investments into our facilities, programs, and coaching to have continued success on and off the pitch, and having Joe on the team will be key to that success” Turano said.
While at Arlington SA, Nemzer oversaw all ECNL age groups while being the Head Coach of the 2006 and 2008 ECNL teams.  Prior to arriving in Arlington, Nemzer was the Girls Academy Director and Head Coach of the 2005 GA, 2006 GA, and 2007 GA.  In his three years with the Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals SC, Nemzer helped elevate the girls program by achieving the Girls Academy Platform in 2020, in addition to helping to send the most female players to college programs in a three year span in the clubs history.  
 
“I could not be more thankful to be returning to Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals SC at the clubs Technical Director. This is an incredibly special place and I take tremendous pride in being part of it,” Nemzer said.  
  
Nemzer has vast experience in the college game having previously served as the Head Coach at Mount St Mary’s (Division I) and Delaware Valley University (Division III).  Nemzer was also the Head Coach of the United States for the Maccabiah Games leading the US to an undefeated tournament and Gold Medal win over Sweden.  As an assistant coach he spent the last year with the University of Maryland (Division I), while previously serving at Central Michigan University (Division I), Fort Hays State University (Division II), and the University of Alabama in Huntsville (Division II). 
 
He also has experience working in the professional game having previously served as the Assistant Coach for the Gotham FC (previously Sky Blue FC) in the NWSL.  During his time with Gotham Nemzer worked with 2 Time FIFA Player of the Year Carli Lloyd and Canadian Olympic Gold Medalists Kailen Sheridan, Janine Beckie, and Adriane Leon.
