Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals SC is very happy to announce that Steve Wacker has been appointed as the Boys Youth Director and Coach.  Coach Wacker will officially begin his role with the club starting in June 2023.

“We could not be more excited to add Steve Wacker to our Ukies Family,” Said Technical Director Joe Nemzer.  “Coach Wacker is one of the most respected soccer coaches in Philadelphia Youth Soccer & NCAA Men’s Soccer, and his resume speaks for itself in terms of what he has accomplished in the game.  More importantly, he has proved to be an elite developer of players and young people, fostering a love for the game and the excitement to become better.”

“I am very excited to join the Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals SC as the Boys Youth Director and coach,” said Steve Wacker.  “Since I started coaching, my passion in soccer has always been about youth development and creating the optimum environment for young players to grow and thrive. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to work with the coaches, players, and their families.”

Coach Wacker just finished his 11th season as the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at St. Joseph’s University.  In addition to the college game, he has worked with several youth clubs in the tristate area such as South Jersey Elite Barons and, most recently, Philadelphia Soccer Club. He began his coaching career following an incredibly decorated playing career both collegiately and professionally.

During Coach Wackers’ career at Temple University he earned multiple Adidas All American Honors and was named 2005 Temple Male Athlete of the Year.  After his collegiate career, Wacker went on to play professionally for the Philadelphia KiXX from 2005 to 2008, where he won an MISL Championship in 2007.

“Our players, families, and coaches are going to benefit tremendously from his mentorship,” said Nemzer. “We could not be more excited to Welcome Coach Wacker and his family to the Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals Soccer Club!”
