The Passing of an All-Time Ukie Great and Hall of Famer
Alex Ely passed away on September 28th 2021 at the age of 83. He was our first player inductee into our Club’s Hall Of Fame. He signed with the Ukrainian Nationals Team in 1959, the team won 4 League Championships and 3 National US Open Challenge Cup Titles for the Club. He had a long and decorated playing and coaching career, including playing for the US Olympic Team in 1961 & 1965, earning a Bronze Medal as a starter Halfback for the US National Team in 1959 at the Pan American Games and also was inducted into the US National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1997.
